ORBIS X 3
Orbis Times Three
A Collection of the Three known Versions of ORBIS.COM
A Colorful, Animated, Screen Display Program
Collected and Documented as a "Favor" from Favors~
Recommended for VGA Monitors
----------------------------
This is a Text File for the numerous programs referred to as
WHOOA!.ZIP, TUNNEL.ZIP, VGATUNL.ZIP, ORBIS.ZIP, OMYGOD!.ZIP,
VGAGRAPH.ZIP and whatever else people have called it. This file,
ORBIS-X3.ZIP, is a collection of the three known versions of the
same program.
This file has been created by Favors~ to alleviate some of the
Renaming of the same files, and provide a choice of all three
three versions floating around in that vast space of the PC/BBS
World. Plus add a "needed" documentation.
IN THIS FILE
------------
You should find four files in ORBIS-X3.ZIP:
ORBIS-X3.DOC--This file you are reading now!---10-28-91/ORIGINAL
ORBIS-1.COM---The First Version of ORBIS.COM---10-28-91/01-01-80
ORBIS-2.COM---The Second Version of ORBIS.COM--10-28-91/03-07-88
ORBIS-3.COM---The Third Version of ORBIS.COM---10-28-91/06-13-89
THE VERSIONS
------------
ORBIS-1.COM - Alias ORBIS.ZIP
----------
Orbis One is a very simple animated colorful display that looks
similiar to a "tunnel" effect (hence bringing about one name) as it's
rings of colors (over 16) move towards the center of the screen in a
hypnotic fashion. (Which I am sure brought about "another" name!)
Orbis One can be initiated at the DOS Prompt as with the other Orbis
files included with this file. Just type;
ORBIS-1 <return>
This version does no other patterns or tricks than what you will
see when you execute the program. It can be terminated using the ESCAPE
Key and returns you to a clean screen at the DOS Prompt. This makes
this file and the other versions useful in batch files.
Orbis One DOES NOT offer Second Parameters on the Command Line.

ORBIS-2.COM - Alias TUNNEL.ZIP
-------------
Orbis Two is the second version which does the same as the first but
offers you a different viewing pattern by pressing the ESCAPE Key while
the program is running. To execute the program, type:
ORBIS-2 <return>
To terminate this version you must hit your ESCAPE Key "TWICE".
That's the difference in this version from the first. By pressing your
ESCAPE Key "ONCE" you will see a fractal-caleidoscope pattern. The
second pattern choice will not be executed till after the first sequence
of rings has completed, so the execution of the second option will not
be immediate.
Also, by pressing your space bar during the second animation display,
you can generate different patterns.
To execute the second display option from the command line and "skip"
the first display option, type in ANY character after the command;
ORBIS-2 ? <return>
Where "?" is the letter you choose. It does not really matter which
you choose. This will take you directly to the second display option of
the file. ORBIS-1.COM is not capable of the second parameter placement as
it has no second display.
ORBIS-3.COM - Alias CALIEDO.ZIP
-----------
Orbis Three is the Third final version of ORBIS that we have found.
This is similiar to ORBIS-2.COM, which starts with the same display as
the ORBIS-1.COM, but there are a few changes.
First, instead of Using the ESCAPE Key to intitiate the second display
option, the screen "prompts you" to press your space bar.
Once you have done so, the second sequence of displays intitiates in
a more spectacular caleidoscope display than ORBIS-2.COM. "Whooa!!" :)
Also, by pressing your space bar during the second animation display,
you can generate different patterns.
To execute the second display option from the command line and "skip"
the first display option, type in ANY character after the command;
ORBIS-3 ? <return>
Where "?" is the letter you choose. It does not really matter which
you choose. This will take you directly to the second display option of
the file. ORBIS-1.COM is not capable of the second parameter placement as
it has no second display.
The only problem with this version is the "Press your Space Bar and Hold On!"
prompt which remains on the screen till your obviously,
'press your space bar and hold on...'

FINAL NOTE
----------
If you find another type or program exactly like ORBIS supplied in this
file, but has a different option from the three we have found, please
contact us and send us a copy. We are not responsible for the
programming of this program, as we did not create them. We have merely
collected, tested, and reveiwed the programs included in this file and
provided needed documentation for a program that is very popular, and
"apparently" Public Domain.
The Author is MORE than welcome to contact us, as we have spent some
time with this little file and his brothers, and we feel he should receive
compensation for his work (Not by us, but by the users) and would gladly
assist him and taking credit for his work and receiving compensation.
Even if no compensation is wanted, please contact us anyway.
Thanks,
Favors~

FAVORS~ NOTE
------------
Favors~ is just that- "Favors". Favors~ is basically here to provide
assistance between the Shareware Authors and the PC Users when a Favor is
needed. We ask for no funds or fees and this assistance is absolutely
free. But for that reason "we" choose the projects.
Furthermore, we are NEVER responsible for the programs we review and
document. Revewing, testing and documentation is our only involvement
with the programs we review. We also research many BBS's for versions of
"apparent" Public Domain Programs with no document files or anything
referring to the Author. There is a need for research on these files, and
we are the fools who subject our computer to programs with no documentation.
We, by no means, knowingly infringe on any copyright laws. We
extensively search for "authorship" to programs like the ones included
in this file. We also ADD readme~.too files to ZIP files in which the
present documentation supplied by the author does not mention an important
fact in dealing with the programs included. We do NOT alter pre-existing
documentation.
You can recognize a Favors~ file by the "~" in the text or in the
filename. Big Deal!? Well, atleast you will know that someone has checked
the program out and it did not damage their computer. BUT, that still doesn't
stop some of those "scum-bags" from packing an attractive ZIP file with a
Trojan horse program that will make you monitor spin around on it's base
and start spitting out floppies, THEN drop one of our files into it and
make us look bad. But, that's the chance you have to take with any
program.
Here to help...
